Life Long Learning

Life long learning is one of the oldest process of keeping your mind and brain working. It keeps us vital and young. 23 Things is one such method of keeping up with the current bombardment of new technology, that will remain constant in the 21st Century.

Having said that I would like to open my first blog with a few lines from my favorite poem _ Ithaca. Ithaca is my guiding star. This beautiful poem keeps the grand scheme of things in its proper perspective. I would like to share the first stanza with fellow bloggers because I know they will gain much from it & hope you find and read the rest of the poem.

ITHACA: THE POEM

As you set out on your journey to Ithaca,
pray that the road is long, full of adventure, full of knowledge.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the angry Poseidon -- do not fear them:
You will never find such as these on your path,
if your thoughts remain lofty, if a fine emotion touches your spirit and your body.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the fierce Poseidon you will never encounter,
if you do not carry them within your soul,
if your soul does not set them up before you.

Constantine P. Cavafy

P.S. The emphasis is mine.
